Pants

In 7th grade, during the height of the 70’s disco fashion throwback, I had these really cool blue polyester pants that I bought at Contempo Casual. I told my dad how cool I thought my pants were, that they were so unusual and no one else at school would be wearing pants like these. In retrospect, I don’t think he liked the pants very much because he said to me, “Sweetheart, just because no one else is wearing these pants, doesn’t mean they are great pants.” But at the time, I thought he just really didn’t understand fashion.
